A Sweet Facial Treat!

Honey is a natural ingredient used in many cosmetic products today.  Honey contains many substances including a mixture of carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes. Honey was used in ancient times as a medicine and beauty aid and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Honey is a humectant, which means it draws moisture from the air into the skin.   If your skin needs a quick hydration boost, try this at home facial:

Simple Honey Mask:

*Mix 1/2 – 1 teaspoon of honey with 1 teaspoon of tepid water in a small bowl (adjust desired consistency by adding more or less water).  Apply to face with clean fingers or a brush.  Let sit for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water. To add a bit of exfoliation, use crystalized honey.

Honey can also be used as a spot treatment for blemishes!

*People allergic to bee stings or have severe allergies should not receive treatments with honey.
